James Walks in the Footsteps of Julia & Jacques

James Goes, our chef at NECO Community Café, has enrolled in culinary coursework at Boston University’s Food, Wine & Gastronomy Program!
Julia Child & Jacques Pepin
Much of BU’s culinary program was founded and created by the late Julia Child and current instructor, Jacques Pepin. Julia’s TV shows, “The French Chef” and “Julia and Jacques Cooking at Home,” were produced here in Boston by WGBH and broadcast nationally for about 12 years in total.
Along with  cooking for us here at NECO, James has cooked and continues to cook and assist with events at many universities and colleges in Boston, sporting events, including the Boston Red Sox, Celtics, Bruins and concerts like Taylor Swift at Gillette Stadium and other large events such as the Boston Marathon. He has helped hotels in the Boston area (like the Omni Parker, Hilton, and Marriott) by filling in at their kitchens during recent union strikes. He has also cooked for many years at Logan Airport for airlines including Air France, British Airways, Japan Air, Emirates and Qatar Airways.
James looks forward to learning new cooking skills and techniques and, along with Tina Sanford, our Food Service Coordinator, continuing to improve on the service and menu offerings at our NECO Community Café!
