NECO Announces Matching Gift Campaign

NECO is proud to announce a new giving initiative aimed at supporting its students and advancing access to quality eye care across communities. As part of its year-end fundraising efforts, NECO is launching a $50,000 matching gift campaign—doubling the impact of all donations made through June 30.

This initiative underscores NECO’s unwavering mission: to educate and train the next generation of optometrists—healthcare professionals who are not only clinically exceptional but also driven by empathy, innovation, and a commitment to equity.

“In a world where the demand for vision care continues to grow, especially in underserved communities, our graduates are meeting the challenge with compassion and expertise,” said Dr. Howard Purcell, President and CEO of NECO. “This campaign gives our community a unique opportunity to directly impact students’ futures and the patients they will one day serve.”

Thanks to the generosity of NECO’s donor community, the College has made significant strides over the past year, including:

  • Increasing scholarship support to help reduce the burden of student debt and enable more students to pursue careers in optometry;
  • Expanding clinical outreach, providing eye care to vulnerable populations while enhancing students’ hands-on experience;
  • Investing in state-of-the-art technologies and relocating the Clinical Training Center back to NECO’s Beacon Street campus to enhance immersive learning.

NECO invites alumni, friends, and supporters to join in this effort to shape the future of optometric education. Contributions can be made online.
