July 4 — Hours of Operation
Beacon Street will be closed on Friday, July 4 in recognition of Independence Day. Remember to practice eye safety if you are anywhere near a place where non-professional fireworks are being used.

Student Reminder: Empty Your Lockers!
Don’t forget to empty your lockers before your final exams of the summer, and no later than August 23. After August 23, personal locks will be cut and any items left in lockers will be donated. We want to make sure that there is plenty of time to get the lockers cleaned and ready for the new academic year. Reach out to couragea@neco.edu with any questions or concerns.

Parking Decal Renewal
As of July 31, 2025, the old parking decals (green, red, and beige) will be invalid. To ensure uninterrupted parking:
-
If we emailed you that your decal is ready for pickup, please collect it from the front office Monday-Friday, 7:00AM—5:00PM.
-
If you haven’t submitted your decal request form, please do so ASAP. It might take us a few days to process your request, so the earlier you submit, the better. Make sure to have your registration handy.
Please direct any questions or concerns to couragea@neco.edu.
Stay Safe in the Heat
We survived the first major heat wave of the season, but the summer is just beginning: July is statistically the hottest month of the year in Boston. Start with these tips to stay safe in the heat:
-
Your body needs more water when it’s hot – aim for at least 2.7 liters per day (or, finish a 24oz reusable water bottle at least four times).
-
If you don’t have AC at home, make sure you know where your city’s public cooling centers are located. These spaces often extend their hours during heat emergencies.
-
Close windows during the day and open them at night to help your space cool off. Keep shades closed.
-
Wear UV resistant clothing over sunscreen for extra protection
-
Know the signs of heat-related illness, and get help if you need it.
