We are thrilled to announce that the official ribbon-cutting ceremony for NECO’s new Clinical Training Center (CTC) will take place on Monday, August 25, 2025 at 5:30PM. All faculty, staff, and students are invited to attend the ceremony.
This state-of-the-art facility will serve as a cornerstone of NECO’s hands-on education, offering students enhanced opportunities for clinical learning in a modern, technology-rich environment.
The new CTC is designed to simulate real-world patient care experiences and will allow NECO students to train using the most advanced diagnostic and therapeutic equipment available in the field of optometry. The relocation back to Beacon Street reflects NECO’s continued commitment to providing an immersive, forward-thinking educational experience that prepares graduates to be leaders in patient-centered eye care, while also promoting the vital role that community plays in student success and achievement.
“This is a proud and transformational moment for NECO,” said Dr. Purcell. “The opening of our new CTC marks a bold investment in the future of optometric education and the future of vision care. With this new facility, we are changing the way students experience clinical training—and ultimately, changing the way people see the world.”
The September issue of NECONews will feature video and photos from the opening celebration. Below are renderings of the new space from our architects.
