We’ve been receiving complaints regarding community members being blocked in the tandem parking lot with no notice from the person blocking them. Being blocked without warning is incredibly disruptive, and can cause anything from annoyance after a long day to missed appointments and flights.
To ensure the lot remains functional and fair for everyone, we ask that everyone follows these simple steps:
- Total Availability: By choosing to block someone, you agree to be reachable and available to move your vehicle at any moment. This includes while you’re in meetings, teaching a lab, giving a lecture, or off-campus for lunch.
- Notify ASAP: If you block another vehicle, inform the owner immediately, preferably before you enter the building. It’s never fun to return to your car and be surprised to find yourself blocked.
- Use the Virtual Parking Assistant: To make this process faster, you can scan the QR codes at building entrances or use this link to send your info quickly and easily. If you have any trouble, bring the decal number of the car you’re blocking to security or the front desk for assistance.
Our parking lot only works if everyone does their part, and small steps have big impact. We appreciate everyone’s contributions to keeping the lot usable for everyone.
Keep Hallways Clear During Exams
Bags and coats left on the floor in the hallways create trip and fire hazards. When you sit for exams, please make sure that all bags and coats are on hallway hooks, in your locker, or under your seat (if allowed).
