A Message from the CommUnity Engagement Committee

The CommUnity Engagement Committee is excited to invite you to our community-wide NECO Activity Challenge! Across all locations, we will engage in friendly competition for the highest step or activity count each month through the summer, with prizes awarded to the top 5 most active community members. Round one of the challenge begins May 1.

We encourage participation from people of all abilities and activity preferences. Whether you use a mobility aid, have a disability, or prefer activities other than walking, the app supports multiple types of activity that count toward the challenge. To participate, download the StrideKick app and enter the “NECO Activity Challenge May ’26” using this link.

The app allows for manual activity entry or for you to link your phone or device you already use to track active minutes across a variety of activities, all of which count toward the challenge.

In addition, the NECO Walking Group has officially kicked off at Beacon! The group meets every Wednesday from 12:00-12:30PM and every Thursday from 12:00-1:00PM (please note there may be occasional calendar adjustments due to college events). The group is open to all faculty and staff – feel free to join for part or all of the time as we move, socialize, and explore the area together on varying routes. Joining the Walking Group is a great way to get some movement in for the Activity Challenge!

We hope you will join us in our effort to connect and move together. Please reach out to the CommUnity Engagement Committee if you have any questions!
