NECO to Host Fit Academy for Cornea Contact Lens Residents
Fit Academy by BostonSight, a two-day seminar for Cornea Contact Lens residents, will be hosted at NECO on September 12-13, 2025. The event is led by Karen Carrasquillo, OD, PhD, and a member of NECO’s Class of 2005. This is the fourth time that NECO has hosted this event.
FitAcademy draws on 30 years of design, manufacturing, research, and training to give emerging clinicians an edge on scleral lens fitting, assessment, and management. Our class of 2019 joined us from schools around the country, in 2020 we went virtual due to the pandemic, and in the past three years we hosted the event at the New England College of Optometry in Boston.
Cornea and contact lens residents learn about scleral lens fitting and assessment and how to manage and co-manage a range of corneal and ocular surface disorders, including dry eye disease and keratoconus. In addition to the educational component, FitAcademy’s intimate setting provides residents a unique opportunity to collaborate with fellow residents, strengthening their professional connections as they begin their careers.
