Winter Parking Reminders

With many new lab instructors joining this semester, and the disruption of the January snowstorm, we’ve seen how important it is to our driving staff and faculty to make every parking spot count. As we continue into another cold and busy month, here are some things we can do to ensure the lot can be used easily and equitably:

1. If you block someone in, you’re responsible for making sure they know who’s blocking them. Contact them before you’re busy in meetings or tied up in lab by using the NECO Parking Assistant (scan a QR code at the building entrances, or bookmark this link, looking up their decal on the Portal, or asking the front desk to help identify their vehicle).

2. Are you using a different vehicle for a period of time? Don’t forget to get your temporary parking pass at the front desk.

Additionally: We’re aware of the challenge that snow in the parking lot causes our community. Unfortunately, until the snow melts, we have limited options on where to put it. We’re working to keep as many spots as clear as we can.

As we do this, we appreciate everyone parking as closely and as carefully as possible to maximize the space that’s left, and letting us know ASAP if you encounter ice on walkways. We thank you for your patience as we, along with the rest of the city, continue to navigate the leftovers of the winter storm.
