Hadley President Visits NECO, Highlights Research Partnership

NECO welcomed Johnjoe Farragher, President and CEO of Hadley, on September 23 for a visit highlighting a growing partnership focused on supporting people adjusting to vision loss.

Hadley is supporting “Evaluation of a Scalable Educational Intervention for Adjustment and Coping to Vision Loss,” a collaborative research study at NECO and Mass General Brigham (MGB), led by Principal Investigator Dr. Ali Raza of MGB with Dr. Micaela Gobeille as the NECO Site Principal Investigator and Dr. Nicole Ross as the co-investigator.  The study is evaluating Hadley-developed educational videos designed to provide practical strategies and support for people adapting to changes in vision.

During his visit, Farragher met with NECO’s low vision team and leadership and toured NECO’s clinical and research facilities, including the new specialty care and research space under construction at 930 Commonwealth Avenue, scheduled to open in early November.

The visit provided an opportunity to discuss the ongoing study, showcase NECO’s extensive low vision clinical and research programs, and explore new opportunities for Hadley and NECO to work together to improve education, resources, and support for people living with vision loss.
